Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken
Fried chicken fans in Wichita have been limited over the years to three main takeout options -- Church's, Popeye's and The Colonel. Now there's a fourth option -- Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken at 5132 E. 21st St. Like its competitors, the restaurant is part of a national chain, this one based in Los Angeles. But Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken has the feel of a family-run, neighborhood chicken stand. Read our review

Yia Yia's -- family style
Yia Yia's Eurobistro at 8115 E. 21st St. N. is on Sunday introducing a new weekly "family-style" night, where large entrees will be served family-style to tables of diners. Each Sunday will feature a different cuisine, starting this Sunday with Spain, followed by France then Italy, then Germany. The dinners include salads, a choice of entree, bread and dessert and cost $15 for adults, $8 for children 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger. The meals are offered from 4 to 8 p.m. and include soda, tea or coffee. A list of specially priced wines from the nightly cuisine's country also will be offered. Reservations can be made by calling 316-634-1000.

Denise Neil on Dining
Denise answers your questions about dining out in Wichita.
Here's a recent question:
Q: "I believe the new Felipe's Restaurant at 119th and Maple is now open, but I have yet to see printed announcement or reviews of this location. Why?" — Submitted by Maggie Orris from Wichita
A: You are right. That Felipe's, which is owned by the same family members who own the west Central store, opened at the end of January at 445 S. 119th Street West. It's open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. No reason I haven't mentioned it, so I will mention it now! Thanks for the reminder.

Question of the Week

It's hard to resist a slice when you go to a restaurant or cafe that serves good pie. But who serves the best pie? Answer by clicking here.
A few answers to last week's question: Wichita is a buffet kind of town. From Asian buffets to fancy Sunday buffets to homey cafeteria-style buffets. But who, in your opinion, has the best buffet?
"Yia Yia's Sunday brunch is tasty." -- tbest4475
"China Star!" -- flinthillslover
"None of the buffets. They always have their cheapest ingredients on their buffets. (Whatever their location). I prefer better quality." --Kmaskrid
