Three bites of sandwich news at Planet Sub

Planet Sub, the sandwich shop at11333 E. Kellogg and 3526 N. Rock Road, recently made a few additions.

1. Chipotle chicken wrap: Chicken, American cheese, onions, fresh red peppers, lettuce and smoky chipotle sauce wrapped in a tortilla and baked.

2. Greek chicken wrap: Chicken, feta cheese, dill, black olives, cucumbers, sprouts, tomatoes and vinaigrette dressing wrapped in a tortilla and baked.

3. Sandwich of the month: A new feature. This month, it's the Big Dipper, made with roast beef, provolone, red onions, horseradish and a side of au jus.

A GOOD DEAL

Local Cold Stone Creameries are dealing in pumpkin ice cream -- and are using it to make all sorts of delectably sinful pies. Wichita has Cold Stones at 2441 N. Maize Road and at 3000 N. Rock Road.

The Artichoke at 811 N Broadway has also introduced a new wrap sandwich called Paddy's Pickled Pepper. It's made with cream cheese, corn beef, pickles and jalapenos, but it's not on the menu, so patrons have to ask for it.

Eat for a cause

Local Applebee's restaurants will support the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, with two specials. During November, local restaurants will make a donation for every appetizer sampler, 12-ounce rib-eye or dessert shooter ordered. And during December, Applebee's will donate a percentage of each gift card sold.
