Intrust Bank Arena got a little taller Tuesday. Dozens of people gathered to watch as an 80-foot spire was raised to its perch on the south side of the arena. The stainless-steel pole, fabricated in New York, is the tallest point of the building at 160 feet. It weighs 3,400 pounds.
Monday's reception at the Sedgwick County Courthouse marked the end of an era and, for the time being, the resurrection of an old one.
